Why You Should Skip Breckenridge Colorado Ski Resorts

You are considering Breckenridge Colorado Ski Resorts. So, let's start at the beginning. Yes, Breckenridge is beautiful. Awesome, in fact! Whenever I visit I can't help just looking around at the beauty of the slopes, the town sitting at the base of the runs and the majesty of it all. So now I know that I want to go back to ski in Breckenridge. It is time to plan my ski vacation to Colorado.

But wait; let me think about this a little. Whenever, I have gone, I have a party of friends along for the experience. We have convened at the airport, flown to Denver, and made the trek west along I-70 (and sometimes route 285), sharing stories, laughing and taking in the sites along the snow covered roads cutting through the Rockies to make our way to our ski resort. We are in Colorado Ski country and loving it! After the mild epic to get to Breckenridge, which is an integral part of the experience, we hunt down our resort in the village of Breckenridge, check in and disperse into our own rooms. We play phone tag a little; decide to meet in the lobby at 6 o'clock to go out for dinner, so we can continue our vacation together. And this is the first time it hit me... like a duh or a-ha moment; more later.

We gather in the lobby. The conversation builds and, as with most efforts to get even the smallest masses of people to move, we take forever to get out the front door and into our 4x4 to make our way down to Main Street for something to eat. We eat at Breckenridge Brewery (get the wings with a pint or two of Hefe Proper), our vacation is off to a great start. After a few of Colorado's finest, we make our way back to our resort, make a time to hit the slopes in the morning and retire to our rooms. And it hits me again... wow.

The next three days are awesome. Skiing in Breckenridge is perfect. Lots of sun, great temps and the slopes are in perfect condition. Aside from a couple of sunburned faces, our party suffers no injuries (not bad for flatlanders). We made our way to the slopes each day and gathered for dinner and some fun each night. The ski vacation was perfect, except, and here is the duh moment explained, we are only together part of the time.

It hit me soon after we arrived the first day and had been on my mind a few times since. What are we not all staying in the same place? Why are we at this resort, which is nice and everything, but then everyone split up for the better part of every night? Then he hit me, we should have rented a condo or house in Breckenridge. It was obvious, like the tree that I can in the direction of the second day, when suddenly I realize that does not avoid the collision was imminent entry. Perfect for a house to rent Breckenridge would bring together the best of both worlds. If we take the probability of a condominium or rental house search, we could all live in, thecommon area. We could have eaten in the condo. We could have continued our conversations. The party would never end, unless we retired to our room, in our condo. What a perfect solution!

So, on the last night of our trip (we went back to the Breckenridge Brew for more local brews), I brought up renting a condo on our next ski trip and we unanimously decided that is what we would do. Hopefully, this gets to you in time, before you book your Colorado ski vacation, so you can consider whether you want the isolation that comes with the resort world, or the added experience that can be had together when sharing your ski time and your personal time by renting a condo or home for your next ski vacation.
